Education and Research Center for Future Value Creation

Supporting activities at three units: from basic research to entrepreneurship

The Future Value Creation Research Center is composed of three units: the Core Research Unit, the Human Resources Development Unit and the Incubation Unit. Each unit promotes various activities ranging from basic research to entrepreneurship with the aim of creating the informatics and the new value required by our society where the real world and the cyber space are closely interconnected. In addition, we establish a problem solving approach based on the universal understanding of nature and society as a ‘system' by collaborating and integrating the fields of natural science, the humanities, and social sciences, which are the characteristics of the Graduate School of Informatics.

Many researchers are involved in cooperative activities such as our research exchange program with Ohio State University in the United States; our research collaboration discussions with RIKEN about “manufacturing informatics"; and natural language processing, which is one of the central themes within the artificial intelligence fields. We bring world-class academic activities into our field of informatics by inviting international researchers. In addition, we promote the value creation through the doctoral curriculum education based on the Graduate Program for Real-World Data Circulation Leaders, student venture support and collaboration with researchers both inside and outside the Graduate School.
