Leading University in Innovation, Research, and Education in Asia

This research unit focuses on the diverse cultural and religious heritage, as well as the history of cultural exchange, that has emerged from centuries of interaction across Asia.
Our goal is to establish a globally leading research hub for collaborative studies in Asia, equipped with advanced archives of cultural heritage and exchange history.
In collaboration with the Research Center for Cultural Heritage and Texts and the Graduate School of Informatics, we adopt interdisciplinary research methods that integrate the humanities and sciences—such as 3D image analysis and artificial intelligence (AI)—to create digital archives of cultural heritage from across Asia.
Through these innovative approaches, we aim to conduct comparative studies across regions, establish chronological frameworks, and elucidate the dynamics of historical interactions.
