Laboratory of Cell and Molecular Bioengineering

細胞分子情報学分野

Keywords :

The design, evaluation, and screening process of new candidate substances in drug discovery is a boundary area that requires the fusion of "basic biology science" and "practical application technology for efficiency."

Due to recent developments in cell science, new research fields are rapidly developing, such as drug discovery screening using stem cells and iPS cells, and regenerative medicine using cells, which are new-age drugs. In order for these basic sciences to bring joy to more people, it is important to conduct research on the development of engineering technology to industrialize and commercialize research results.

In this laboratory, we aim to contribute to society by conducting fusion and original research and development to research new practical applications that connect multiple fields, such as cells, molecules, and informatics, basic research and development of drug discovery, science and technology, medicine and industry, and industry-government-academia, from a bioengineering perspective.

Research Concepts

In the Laboratory of Cell & Molecular Bioengineering, we conduct research on three pillars:

"cells," "molecules," and "information," which are also in the Japanese name of our laboratory.

CMB Lab 3pillars : cells, molecules and information
3 pillars : cells, molecules and information

This is because I would like to combine my expertise in biology, which deals with cells, chemistry, which deals with molecules, and informatics (data science), which deals with information, to conduct new research.
