Welcome dinner for the Governor of Aichi Prefecture
On 24 August 2024, Mr. Hiroshi Imaizumi, the director of the Nagoya University global campus and president of the Singapore Aichi Prefecture Association, welcomed Mr. Hideaki Ohmura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture, and his delegation at the Goodwood Park Hotel.
During this occasion, Aichi Prefecture gifted "The Catbus," a beloved character from the Studio Ghibli film My Neighbor Totoro, as a souvenir.
Aichi Prefecture is notable for its significant industrial concentration and trade surplus, making it a key economic area in Japan. The region is also home to Ghibli Park, which features attractions inspired by Studio Ghibli films.
Moreover, Aichi is poised for growth with the opening of "STATION AI," Japan's largest startup support center, scheduled for October. The new Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium (IG Arena), expected to be completed in 2025, alongside the hosting of the 20th Asian Games in 2026, further cements Aichi's reputation as a dynamic hub for innovation and culture.
