The delegation was warmly received by Associate Professor Beng Choo Lim of the Department of Japanese Studies at the National University of Singapore, who shared the department’s approach to cultural education and its vision for interdisciplinary learning.

During the visit, the team observed both traditional and contemporary aspects of student activities, including the use of a tea ceremony room (chashitsu) and student-led cultural clubs. These experiences highlighted the department’s integrated approach to understanding Japanese culture across historical and modern contexts.
