Nagoya University Singapore Community led the Volunteer Clean-Up Event at Japanese Cemetery Park

On Sunday, October 29, 2023, the Nagoya University Singapore Community collaborated with members of Singapore Mitakai, Aichi Prefectural Association, and The Fukushima Singapore Kenjinkai, participated in a volunteer clean-up event at Japanese Cemetery Park in Hougang, Singapore.

As the largest Japanese cemetery in Southeast Asia, Japanese Cemetery Park spans 29,359 square meters and features 910 tombstones, commemorating various facets of the Japanese community in Singapore, including civilians, soldiers, and historical figures. Gazetted as a memorial park by the Singapore government in 1987, the site holds significant cultural and historical importance.

This collaborative clean-up effort highlights the commitment of the community to preserving this important heritage site.
