Nagoya University Deepens Collaboration with Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia
Indonesia – On February 28, 2025, representatives from Nagoya University engaged in a series of productive meetings with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) to strengthen their academic partnership.
The day began with discussions involving Ms. Veeraya Chenchittikul from Nagoya University and staff and faculty members at UGM, including Prof. Puji Astuti, Director of Partnerships and Global Relations. Representatives from the Office of International Affairs and several faculties—including Social and Political Science, Forestry, Cultural Sciences, Geography, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Economics and Business—participated. Key topics included ongoing research collaborations and student mobility programs.
Following this, Nagoya University met with the Department of International Relations and NU alumni within the Faculty of Social and Political Science. Discussions focused on enhancing student and staff mobility as well as developing degree programs. Participants included Dr. Muhammad Rum, Head of Graduate Programs (GSID alumnus), Dr. Aulia Hutama (NU alumnus), and Mr. Nurhawira Pramano from the Department’s communication team.
The visit concluded with a meeting with Prof. Budi Guntoro, Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science. Both institutions, as members of the Asian Association of Agricultural Colleges and Universities (AAACU), explored opportunities to strengthen their partnership through short-term exchange programs and staff mobility.
These engagements reflect Nagoya University and Gadjah Mada University’s shared commitment to fostering international collaboration and academic excellence.
