Nagoya University Community Participates in 54th Aichi Prefecture Association Singapore New Year Gathering
On 27 January 2026, members of the Nagoya University community participated in the 54th Aichi Prefecture Association Singapore New Year gathering, held at Maddie's Kitchen.
The event, organized as part of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Singapore, brought together 53 participants, including members of the Nagoya University Alumni Association Singapore Branch, NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) students, Nagoya University alumni, and students from the National University of Singapore.
The gathering was hosted by the Aichi Prefecture Association Singapore, a community organization that connects individuals with ties to Aichi Prefecture and promotes cultural exchange and networking in Singapore. A New Year’s address by Minister Yusuke Hotta from the Embassy of Japan in Singapore, along with traditional celebrations such as lo hei (a festive raw fish salad toss symbolizing prosperity) and participant introductions, created a lively atmosphere and highlighted the importance of community engagement and cultural exchange.
