International Research Seminar on “New Trends on Design, Operation and Evaluation of Mobility Services” Held in Singapore

On 17 March 2026, Nagoya University COI-NEXT My-mobility Co-creation Center hosted an international research seminar titled “New Trends on Design, Operation and Evaluation of Mobility Services” at CREATE Tower, NUS U-Town Campus in Singapore.

The seminar explored emerging trends in mobility, with a focus on data-driven and user-centered approaches. As transport systems face rapid societal changes—including demographic shifts, labour shortages, digitalisation, and increasing demand for flexible solutions—discussions highlighted the need for innovative frameworks that integrate technology, public policy, and behavioural insights. Participants also examined how such systems can be more effectively designed, operated, and evaluated in both urban and rural contexts, contributing to the development of resilient, inclusive, and sustainable mobility.

The seminar featured Prof. Toshiyuki Yamamoto (Nagoya University) and Prof. Fumitaka Kurauchi (Gifu University), with 15 Nagoya University students in attendance. Student engagement was strong, with active discussions and thoughtful questions throughout the session, offering valuable insights into global research trends and future academic pathways.

Through initiatives like this, Nagoya University Global Campus Singapore (NUGC) continues to promote international academic exchange and provide students with opportunities to engage with cutting-edge research and global challenges.
