From Nagoya to Singapore: Life, Work, and Educational Program Development Abroad

My name is Minami Nakamura, and I am a student in the Faculty of Education at Nagoya University. From July 2025, I participated in a six-month internship through the NOC Inbound Programme at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

During this period, I interned at The Global Citizen Education Group, an education-focused company headquartered in Singapore that provides educational programmes for children. As an intern, I worked on a variety of tasks, including supporting programme operations, conducting research for expansion into the Japanese market, and preparing materials.

At the beginning of the internship, I was worried about whether I would be able to adapt to a new environment and workplace culture. However, everyone at the company warmly welcomed me and was always willing to offer guidance. They not only supported me professionally but also shared insights about life and culture in Singapore, which made the experience even more meaningful.

Living and working in Singapore, which is often described as a hub of Asia, allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

I am deeply grateful for the encounters and networks I was able to build during this internship, as they broadened my perspective on education, work, and global collaboration.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Prof. Imaizumi, Nagoya University, National University of Singapore, and everyone who supported me throughout this invaluable experience.
